Are you an experienced Complex Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in Plymouth?

As a Complex Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs—helping them live as independently as possible while feeling safe and supported in their homes and communities.


About the Role

  • Provide specialist support to individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
  • Work within multi-staff support teams to ensure safe and effective care
  • Follow detailed person-centred support plans and behavioural support strategies
  • Assist individuals to access the community, maintain their tenancies, manage bills, and develop life skills
  • Work professionally, calmly, and methodically in a variety of situations
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards at all times

You will receive high-level training, including mandatory care training and specialist safety intervention training, ensuring you feel confident and supported in the role.


Working Hours & Contracts

  • 28–36 hours per week (contracted hours)
  • Shifts typically run 08:00–22:00, followed by a sleep-in shift from 22:00–08:00
  • Sleep-in rate: £74 per shift
  • Flexibility is required, including weekend working


Training & Development

You’ll receive full training, including:

  • Online mandatory training
  • In-house training delivered by New Direction Support
  • Specialist safety intervention training
  • Ongoing career development and qualification opportunities, including apprenticeships

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs or challenging behaviours
  • A calm, patient, and methodical approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow detailed support plans and behaviour strategies
